27Dec07:
Christmas carols were featured on this lovely and friendly evening. And after the interval we were treated to a Mummers Play. All in a great evening. Mince Pies and sausage rolls were supplied by keen supporters Barbara & Steve Sutton.
And Bob finished off the singing with an unaccompanied rendition of Silent Night.
25 Nov07:
Our first evening at the new venue was tinged with some anxiety....but we need not have worried. The room was excellent, as was the acoustics. The bar worked well and the layout seemed to meet with approval. Our thanx to all who made it a success. We hope we have something we can build on. All the feedback was positive (see below).
And Stompin Dave Allen went down a storm- he wants to come back and see us again soon. And we want him back too!
FEEDBACK-....very interesting evening.....Stompin Dave Allen is brilliant-what an act. Could do with stage lighting, shorter interval, earlier finish, some food to buy.....Great evening, enjoyed it very much. Loved Stompy as well.....Really nice friendly atmosphere. Definitely come again.....Lovely evening.....Brilliant Great Fantastic....What a great night. Well done to all the organisers and helpers.....Last night was a great success.
25 Oct07:
Our sixth outing was the first Come all Ye, and we were blessed with a rare mixture of talents that included song, tunes and a joke or two. One of the highlights being a brave performance by Keson- a Thai girl who has been a frequent visitor and helpful supporter of the club.
Many people were a little nervous of the daunting prospect of performing to a listening audience who welcomed every performer, without favour. And every performer rose to the occasion- too many to name but I do personally thank Eileen for including a favourite song of mine, and Roger who sang the last song at Osmington so well- and yes, it was also a favourite of mine.
This was the last evening at Osmington and we can now concentrate on our new home.
We now hope to build the club to a level where we can attract a host of new artists from around the country.
27 Sept07:
Our fifth outing featured Rigs of Time, aka Chas Upton, Sammy Boyle and Steve Sutton, who provided a great mix of material and were unsurprisingly well received. They were supported by a host of performers including some regular favourites. And as one of the performers who had promised to appear didn't turn up (the first time that has happened, thankfully) the floor was opened up to some surprise artists...including Pam Dentith, Vicky, and a great friend of the club Roger Harrall.
The turn out wasn't as high as previous nights, but it's a brave man who can analyse why! (any brave men out there?)
23 Aug07:
For the fourth month in a row by 815pm the room was a FULL HOUSE!! (and this despite some serious difficulties with the pub).
Once again it was very hot.
The evening programme was once more a good mix. Rod Jenkins joined us again, followed by Ray Mitchell- a club favourite. Some more new faces provided extra variety. Steve Sutton, Robin Greenwood and Geoff n Sue Hodgson. The end of the first half saw Frome Valley Morris give us a mix of entertainment that you don't always see as they usually stick to their dancing. All in all another superb mix of entertainment. Thanx to all who contributed.
Feedback received.....Like to hear a good fiddle+++++++Excellent mix+++++++the raffle was handled magnificently- Oh yes, and a lovely venue!
26 Jul07:
For the third month in a row by 815pm the room was a FULL HOUSE!! (and this despite the road partially closed due to several accidents. The club hopes those involved were not seriously injured).
A big thank you for your perseverance with the road problems, and helping to make "Bob" a very happy man.
The evening programme was packed with talent, and all new faces to the stage. Rod Jenkins started it off, followed by a duo from London "Sublime to the Ridiculous". The guests for the evening Martin Jardine & friends gave a fantastic performance, and were joined by Ray Sargent and Roger from Cornwall. Adding to the second half Julie Astin gave us two great songs. All in all a superb mix of entertainment.

28 Jun07:
I am thrilled to report that by 815pm the room was a FULL HOUSE again. How nice to see so many people gearing themselves up for a fun evening. And they were not disappointed. A well balanced evening of song was provided by GP Hall, Nicola Clark, Eileen, Ray Mitchell and of course the guests for the evening Derek Burgess and Kitty Vernon. Many friends were in the audience and went home happy. People came from Osmington, Weymouth, Portland, Bere Regis, Verwood, Wimborne, Poole, London, Germany, Italy and Thailand!!
